Does anyone know what the big wood walls they're building right in front of the Metro entrance are for? This is adjacent to the BB&T Bank, by the notoriously unreliable bank of escalators. I hope this doesn't end up impeding our commutes.

Just as quickly as it appeared, the wood barricades have disappeared and everything looks back to normal. If only the rest of the work in the area would go as smoothly and quickly!

The construction was a WMATA/Metro related project had nothing to do with the streetscape project. However, sometime near the end of July that area of the streetscape project will begin. Also, around this time the civic plaza will open. Overall the streetscape project has another 12 to 18 months before completition.
