Because it is clear that everyone here hates everyone else, I thought we might try a little community-building exercise.

I'm going to start a list of things that I think everyone who reads or posts on this forum is in favor of and a list of things that I think everyone who reads or posts on this forum is against.

FOR:
1) Working escalators at the Metro
2) Clean air to breathe
3) Well-behaved puppies owned by responsible people.

AGAINST:
1) Vacant storefronts
2) Crime
3) Brain-eating zombies

Can you think of any more things for either list? Please, add your suggestions!

actually, i am sometimes, depending on my mood, against working escalators at the metro. sometimes I think we should be like NYC and only have escalators at the really deep stations. they cost too much to fix all the time and people need the exercise.

Rock climbing as the up escalator, and a slide as the down escalator. Make it happen Metro, and they could hand out towels to anyone who needs it. It's cheaper, will get people fit...and it looks cool.

jrenaut -you couldn't even find 3 things we all agree on. Doesn't say much for the future of your thread.

I'd say diverse food but I don't want to insult those who find eating repetitive and fattening. Breathing good air but not at the expense of poor areas that can't afford greener space. Less crime, but I don't want to take away an outlet for those who can't find a job. This is harder than I thought.

How about:
1) Ranting
2) Bitterness
3) Bile
4) Disagreement
5) Everyone is cool with puppies, right? So long as their owners keep them under control and clean up after them?

How about well-behaved baby animals? Does that make everyone happy?

By well-behaved, I of course meant to include, "Only reproducing at appropriate times and in appropriate numbers". Certainly the baby panda at the zoo, for example, should be encouraged to reproduce when it's old enough?

The pandas are obviously provided as a flim-flam entertainments for all the newcomers who have been brought in as part of the gentrification model of development, as fostered by the Jim Graham - Dan Tangherlini regime. The resources, specifically the TIF monies from the luxury condominiums, should be instead allocated to an inclusive infrastructure and social programs geared towards the needs of the non-panda viewing population (the vast majority of people here). Any panda reproduction would be at the expense of CH.

That's why we'll hold the baby panda's offspring for ransom. The Chinese government thinks they're getting it back? Ha. Over our dead bodies. We can carry guns now, right? We want $30 million dedicated to the betterment of our neighborhood for all residents, or the panda gets US citizenship.
