Major Retail Coming to Columbia Heights

DC USA

Columbia Heights is poised to become the shopping destination for the entire Washington, DC area.  Hundreds of thousands of square feet of retail space are in the works including DC USA, a 500,000 sq. ft. retail complex that will include major retailers such as Target, Best Buy, Bed Bath and Beyond, and possibly Whole Foods Market!  More exciting retailers are planning to open in the newly renovated Tivoli Square and other developments across Columbia Heights.  Read more in the Retail News section.

OXXO Care CleanersThe dry cleaners that will be coming to the Park Triangle apartment building is offering some unique, high tech services.  OXXO Care Cleaners will offer an automated 24/7 ATM-style pickup service.  They will also use environmentally safe solvents.

Another piece of good welcome news. Environmentally friendly is always great, and the 24/7 pick up sounds cool.. unless it gets jammed by my suits and shirts.. lol.

I don't see any evidence that they are "set to open" just yet. No surprise, as I expect they would do well to wait for the area's new high-end apartments to start filling up. I doubt they would do all that well immediately, especially since the Georgetown Valet is opening right behind Park Place.

I'm sure it's just going to be a bidding war for who has the lowest prices. Whoever does shirts for $.99 has my business.
