Major Retail Coming to Columbia Heights

DC USA

Columbia Heights is poised to become the shopping destination for the entire Washington, DC area.  Hundreds of thousands of square feet of retail space are in the works including DC USA, a 500,000 sq. ft. retail complex that will include major retailers such as Target, Best Buy, Bed Bath and Beyond, and possibly Whole Foods Market!  More exciting retailers are planning to open in the newly renovated Tivoli Square and other developments across Columbia Heights.  Read more in the Retail News section.

Tivoli SquareTivoli Square has experienced a flurry of activity over the past few weeks.  The remaining three retail spaces have all been leased out.  In the past few weeks, the following retail tenants have signed on with Tivoli Square:  the UPS Store, Salon Destiny, and Nash's Sports.

There have also been some recent openings at Tivoli Square to report.  Carvel Ice Cream opened its doors a few weeks ago.  Just last Friday, Rumberos, a Latin-American restaurant and bar, opened to the public.  We have just added the listings for Carvel Ice Cream and Rumberos.  Please visit those pages and provide your feedback on the food, atmosphere, and your overall impressions of these latest dining establishments to open in Columbia Heights.

Any update on the Whole Foods/DC USA?

Have any updates on the Whole Foods situation?

Btw, this site seems to have become very inactive.. While I realise it is tough to keep it updated, I used to check every day and see new things, now weeks on end go by with nothing new. I hope you get more time to devote to it soon as it is a great site and by far the best source on what's up in CH!

Let's have a look at that plan: UPS Store, Ruby Tuesday, Rumba Cafe, Salon Destiny, Wachovia Bank, Carvel and Kudo Beans.

Are any of these establishments useful to the public at large, more importantly the public at large in Columbia Heights, DC. What is going on here?

Err... yes, they are. Public at large enjoys sending parcels, eating food, getting their hair done, paying bills, and having coffee. Some even like to see a play every now and then.

What do you want to see then?

ps. Rumba Cafe is in Adams Morgan.. ;)
Good to see some options!

Can't wait for more of these to open. Rumbero's has a great atmosphere. And while I can't say that I think Ruby Tuesday will really add anything to the neighborhood, it and Kudo will finally add some local dining options to an area that has been sorely lacking anything other than takeout!

Sticky Fingers is a MOST welcome addition to our neighborhood!
