The HeightsWe received word from owner David Winer that Logan @ The Heights Restaurant and Bar will be opening on June 15.  The Heights is part of the Eatwell DC restaurant group which includes Grillfish, Logan Tavern, and Merkado.  It will be located on 14th and Kenyon Streets NW (ground floor of the Kenyon Square condominium building).

The recently launched website for The Heights provides some details on the kind of food that will be served there.

The food and drink blends contemporary American cuisine with homestyle favorites. Enjoy fried chicken, meatloaf and amazing burgers, or roast chicken, beef and fish from our rotisserie. An extensive list of beer, wine, and cocktails blends names you know with a handful off the beaten path.

The Heights will also boast an 80-seat outdoor dining section.

Very excited about this place - finally a decent food option around here. I mean I love burritos and all, but...

I'm getting hungry already.

And I am starting to doubt they will be able to have everything ready by June 15.. hope they will of course.

June 15? Knowing how things are in Columbia Heights, June 15 really means November 21. There's no way anything in that bulding will be safe for occupation in June.

I would agreee that its unlikely they can open on June 15. However, they might be able to e.g. cover the entrance up to guard against stuff dropping from the ongoing finishing constructiontouches above. :D Btw, Starbucks interior seems almost done. They even have pictures up on the wall.. lol.

I emailed with David Winer today, he let me know that the new open date will likely be June 21st.

Only a week late then. Not too bad! Starbucks seems about ready to open too. Hope Red Rocks and the wine store follow soon, and we have already a pretty decent selection of dining and retail!

I really hope people don't all gravitate toward the Starbucks. Mayorga is just across the street; it has much better coffee and wonderful cakes; it plays great music and has nice staff, and it's a much more comfortable place to spend time.

I'd like to see some independent businesses thrive in the area. And Mayorga's a gem.

Agree, except I am not sure if Mayorga is that much more comfortable for a quick coffee and a muffin, for example. Long term lounging yes, if you go upstairs. The coffee.. well, the latte I had was nothing spectacular, frankly.
