Columbia Heights is poised to become the shopping destination for the entire Washington, DC area. Hundreds of thousands of square feet of retail space are in the works including DC USA, a 500,000 sq. ft. retail complex that will include major retailers such as Target, Best Buy, Bed Bath and Beyond, and possibly Whole Foods Market! More exciting retailers are planning to open in the newly renovated Tivoli Square and other developments across Columbia Heights. Read more in the Retail News section.
We received word from owner David Winer that Logan @ The Heights Restaurant and Bar will be opening on June 15. The Heights is part of the Eatwell DC restaurant group which includes Grillfish, Logan Tavern, and Merkado. It will be located on 14th and Kenyon Streets NW (ground floor of the Kenyon Square condominium building).

The recently launched website for The Heights provides some details on the kind of food that will be served there.
The food and drink blends contemporary American cuisine with homestyle favorites. Enjoy fried chicken, meatloaf and amazing burgers, or roast chicken, beef and fish from our rotisserie. An extensive list of beer, wine, and cocktails blends names you know with a handful off the beaten path.
The Heights will also boast an 80-seat outdoor dining section.

Service is a little too attentive, but progressing nicely. Hopefully it doesn't get too popular...b/c then we'll have to wait forever to get a spot :)
Bad experiences at The Heights Written by
on 2007-12-20 14:21:39I've been to The Heights twice, having bad experiences both times. The first time my girlfriend and I couldn't sit at the bar, so after we ordered drinks from the bartender we were offered seats at the "community table". Then the bartender yelled at us for sitting at the table where the waitress was supposed to be helping us. Also, the bartender didn't tell us they were out of the happy hour wine, and charged us for a premium wine. Thankfully the waitress was nice and straightened it all out for us. But we didn't leave happy.
The second time I went in, I saw that the bar was full and asked for seating at the "community table", only to find that happy hour prices no longer extended to the community table and the manager looked at me like I didn't know what I was talking about.
I sent them an email to complain, never having heard back. I won't ever go there again, not without knowing they've REALLY changed things.
