Major Retail Coming to Columbia Heights
Columbia Heights is poised to become the shopping destination for the entire Washington, DC area. Hundreds of thousands of square feet of retail space are in the works including DC USA, a 500,000 sq. ft. retail complex that will include major retailers such as Target, Best Buy, Bed Bath and Beyond, and possibly Whole Foods Market! More exciting retailers are planning to open in the newly renovated Tivoli Square and other developments across Columbia Heights. Read more in the Retail News section.
We received word from owner David Winer that Logan @ The Heights Restaurant and Bar will be opening on June 15. The Heights is part of the Eatwell DC restaurant group which includes Grillfish, Logan Tavern, and Merkado. It will be located on 14th and Kenyon Streets NW (ground floor of the Kenyon Square condominium building).

The recently launched website for The Heights provides some details on the kind of food that will be served there.
The food and drink blends contemporary American cuisine with homestyle favorites. Enjoy fried chicken, meatloaf and amazing burgers, or roast chicken, beef and fish from our rotisserie. An extensive list of beer, wine, and cocktails blends names you know with a handful off the beaten path.
The Heights will also boast an 80-seat outdoor dining section.

New opening set for June 21st? Written by
on 2007-06-13 13:12:54I just dropped in at The Heights last night (Tues 6/12) and the guy there said the opening is now set for Thurs, June 21st. I don't know how solid that is, but looking forward to it.

brunch ... Written by New2CH on 2007-06-20 16:20:23actually, I think brunch is the one thing we have some decent options for ... Wonderland has a solid brunch now, Temperance Hall has a great Sunday brunch (best in the area in my view), Rumberos has some solid brunch options, and Redrocks will supposedly have brunch whenever it opens ... plus there's Dos Gringos over in Mt. Pleasant.

on 2007-06-25 15:23:53I went on friday night. I love the interior. The wait for a table was an hour and a half so we just had drinks and left. Can anyone attest to the food? The AC seemed to be not working too which is another reason we couldn't wait. The outdoor seating will be awesome. I will definitely go back.

on 2007-06-25 15:29:13I went at about 7-730 on Friday. There was a 45 min wait for a table, but two stools ended up being open at the bar, so we sat there. Food was great, little slow, but that is to be expected on opening nite.

Written by MG on 2007-07-02 09:19:45Ate there Friday night. Got there around 6, and there was no wait for a table, although the bar area was slammed. Service was outstanding and attentive. Food is a bit mixed. Southern fried chicken was quite good. The meatloaf though tasted a bit weird, like they mixed together too many different meats for it givign it an uncomfortable texture. The mashed potatoes were really the highlight of both meals. Worth getting by themselves. Another nice touch is they give you a small salad with your entree. That's something you don't see much of anymore. Good drinks too. Will probably go back. Then again, we still don't have that many choices.
Nice Heights Dining Experience Written by
on 2007-07-03 11:28:13Four of us ate at The Heights opening night - which can always be a challenge. That said, our service was excellent. The ginger calamari appetizer was phoenomenal. No one hated their meal, but only one of four of us said he would order it again (skirt steak). We will go back and continue trying things. Its great to have another nice restaurant in the neighborhood.
