Park TriangleLast week there was an interesting Washington Post article about the Park Triangle Apartment development in Columbia Heights, Park Triangle: Urban Bustle With a View.  Of note, the article mentions the types of tenants that will be coming the ground level retail space, "Spaces have been leased to a vegan bakery, a cellphone store, a chicken restaurant, a bank and a credit union, as well as an insurance company. There will also be a dry cleaner with automatic drop off and pick up."

A few weeks ago, we received an email from the Vice President of Triangle Ventures, Ernie Marcus.  Mr. Marcus confirmed that the following retailers have signed with Park Triangle:

  • Citibank
  • Oxxo Cleaners
  • Pollo Campero
  • T-Mobile
  • Allstate
  • Lafayette Federal Credit Union

Mr. Marcus also noted that a "bakery/café" was very probable.  This seems to be confirmed by the Post article.  Other retailers in negotiation includes a bedding store, Italian ice shop, and a specialty sports and equipment store.

Park Triangle Civic PlazaThe Post article also has some interesting information on the triangular shaped public space in front of the Park Triangle building.

"The city has just agreed to pay for $4 million in improvements to the land adjacent to the apartment building. For now, Triangle Ventures LLC, the company that built Park Triangle, has installed large trees and stone in the plaza at the triangle corner of 14th and Kenyon streets NW. When all the construction finishes, that will remain as an open green space, said Ernie L. Marcus, a vice president at Triangle Ventures. A farmers market will eventually make the square its home from June to Thanksgiving."
