Major Retail Coming to Columbia Heights

DC USA

Columbia Heights is poised to become the shopping destination for the entire Washington, DC area.  Hundreds of thousands of square feet of retail space are in the works including DC USA, a 500,000 sq. ft. retail complex that will include major retailers such as Target, Best Buy, Bed Bath and Beyond, and possibly Whole Foods Market!  More exciting retailers are planning to open in the newly renovated Tivoli Square and other developments across Columbia Heights.  Read more in the Retail News section.

Message From WMATA:

A major joint development project is underway at the Columbia Heights Metrorail Station in the District of Columbia at 14th and Irving Streets, NW.  This joint development project includes the construction of 250 residential condominium units over the East entrance to the station and the construction of 272 condominium units over the West entrance of the stadium.

To protect our customers and the station facilities, temporary overhead protection will installed over the East entrance starting Monday, April 3, 2006.

The East entrance (3101 14th Street, NW) will be closed to Metro passengers for two weeks beginning Monday, April 3, 2006 will the platform is under construction.

The West entrance (3030 14th Street, NW will remain open. Our customers will be encouraged to use the crosswalks to cross the street.

Metro is committed to keeping the community and its customers informed about construction progress, maintaining customer and system safety and minimizing any inconveniences the construction may cause.
