Press Release From Donatelli Development FedEx-Kinko's, d'vines Sign Up For Retail Space At Kenyon SquareDonatelli Development is proud to announce that two more retailers have signed up for space at Kenyon Square, bringing to seven the total number of committed retailers in the building. These two latest retailers promise to round out Kenyon Square's retail "menu," bringing products and services to Columbia Heights that have long been missing from the once-bustling 14th Street retail corridor. The 2,300 square foot store will offer a full range of products and services tailored to both small business owners and consumers, including:
d'vines Also coming to Columbia Heights for the first time is a locally-owned specialty wine and beer retailer, "d'vines." For years, the neighborhood's oenophiles and beer-lovers have either had to trek to distant neighborhoods to purchase fine wines and artisan and craft beers, or settle for the selection at the corner liquor store. Sales of wine and beer at the Giant at Tivoli Square raised the bar a notch, but the neighborhood still lacks a store with a wide selection of wines and beers at the mid- to top end of the market, with a sales staff with the specialized knowledge to make highly tailored recommendations. D'vines will change that, offering over 1000 wine labels and 240 varieties of artisan and craft beers (plus an exclusive selection of cigars), all hand-picked by the owners and managers, in an appealing and well-laid out, 1390-square-foot space in the southern half of the building.
The combined effect, according to co-owner George Aguilar, will be that customers will be comfortable lingering, learning, and hopefully trying new things. "We're very pleased to be offering home-grown businesses a unique chance to grow in a dynamic and rapidly changing neighborhood with a great customer base," stated Donatelli Development president Chris Donatelli. "Not only will the neighborhood benefit from the added service, but we salute local business owners with the foresight to invest in Columbia Heights." For his part, d'vines co-owner Aguilar would like Kenyon Square owners to feel welcome in his store even before it's built. He plans to offer Kenyon Square residents an automatic ten percent discount at the new store, and invites Kenyon Square buyers to come visit him at Di Vinos on 18th Street. He said, "Come in, introduce yourself, let's get to know each other even before we're neighbors, and I'll gladly give you the d'vines Kenyon Square resident discount at Di Vinos!" One Space Still Available Donatelli Development is holding the final retail space, about 2,850 square feet located just to the south of Logan @ The Heights (which is at the corner of 14th and Kenyon), for an exceptional restaurant opportunity.
"If you have an all-time favorite restaurant, talk to the owners to see if they would be interested in looking at the Columbia Heights market," Donatelli continued, "and have them give us a call. We still have a little bit of time."
Not too much time, though; retail tenants are expected to begin opening their doors by the summer. Retail inquiries can be directed to John Asadoorian at Asadoorian Retail Solutions, (202) 333-9066. Only registered users can write comments. Powered by AkoComment! |
