Major Retail Coming to Columbia Heights

Columbia Heights is poised to become the shopping destination for the entire Washington, DC area. Hundreds of thousands of square feet of retail space are in the works including DC USA, a 500,000 sq. ft. retail complex that will include major retailers such as Target, Best Buy, Bed Bath and Beyond, and possibly Whole Foods Market! Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robbins Coming Soon

A new shop featuring both Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robbins ice cream will be coming to the ground-floor retail spaces at the Lofts of Columbia Heights (located just a few blocks south of the Columbia Heights Metro Station).

The Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins shop has started its build out and plans to open by March 31, 2007.

In addition, NuAmerica Bank will also be filling some retail space at the Lofts of Columbia Heights. NuAmerica is awaiting FDIC approval and expects to open by June 30, 2007.

The Lofts of Columbia Heights is a mixed use condominium being developed By THE NON PROFIT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OF WASHINGTON, DC, INC., a 501 C3 not for profit organization in conjunction with Litman Development, Inc which oversees the construction, management and leasing of the development.

Mmm.. donuts... lol.. I will get some sometimes, but I am sure there many in CH who will frequent it (based on the spare tires I see a huge number of people lugging around on the streets.. ). Good for them. Baskin Robbins.. is that any better than Carvel?

Dunkin Donuts has started doing really great sandwiches. They do a surprisingly good classic cuban sandwich. You have to provide your own mojo sauce.
