The following is a message from Councilmember Jim Graham:

Every Contribution Counts

My good friend,

It has been, and continues to be, a great honor to serve all of DC and represent the residents of Ward One – the most diverse area of our city.

Councilmember Jim GrahamWorking together, we have achieved much. But there is still more work to be done. That is why I am seeking reelection, to continue my service for our community.

We have made great progress over the past eight years, but there are many unfinished projects to address and new challenges to tackle. That is why I am seeking your support for reelection. Your generous donation of $15, $25, $50 or more will be instrumental to continuing the progress we've worked so hard to achieve. Together, we can keep moving forward to build a stronger, safer city.

Jim Graham

For your convenience we have reformatted the contribution form and saved it out as a PDF file.  Please print the following form and send it in with your contribution:

Hey Mr. Graham, I think you've been doing a fantastic job. Do you know what the status is now of the proposition that DC residents be able to be considered in-state for tuition at VA or MD colleges? Thanks a lot:)

Amanda--my understanding is that this is the case for any graduate of a DC public HS who wants to attend an undergraduate public institution in another state. If you're a DC resident who isn't a product of the public school system then this does not apply to you.

Have you endorsed a candidate for Mayor, Rep-at-Large or Council Chair? I know who I am supporting for Mayor, but do not know much about the candidates for the two council positions and would be interested to hear your thoughts. Thanks and keep up the great work!!

Heather and Amanda,

Actually the District Government already administers a program called the DC Tuition Assistance Grant Program, which covers the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition. Being a graduate of DCPS is not a requirement for the program, only District residency (and US citizenship and some other criteria). The DC State Education Office runs the program.
