Help Bring Whole Foods Market To Columbia Heights!

Whole Foods MarketWould you like Whole Foods Market to come to Columbia Heights?  You can join our campaign to bring Whole Foods Market to the DC USA retail complex!  The best way for you to voice your support for Whole Foods is to email Karen Riley at karen.riley@wholefoods.com.  Karen Riley is the real estate coordinator for Whole Foods Market.  She can demonstrate the level of our support directly to the Whole Foods team working on the negotiations.  Please be as descriptive as you can in your emails.  Please also cc or bcc your emails to Ms. Riley to us at info@columbiaheightsnews.org.  We need to keep a running tally of how many messages have been sent to Whole Foods Market so we can gage how much more work we need to do.  The more people who can email Whole Foods Market the more powerful our collective voices will be!  It looks like we are facing an uphill battle but as a community we can make a difference!  Please spread the word!

As of this writing there has been fifty-one individuals who have emailed Karen Riley expressing support for bringing Whole Foods Market to the DC USA retail complex.  This number is based on those who have copied us on their messages to Ms. Riley or simply wrote us a message telling us that you had done so.  Thank you very much for the great response.  This is a great outcome considering that we just had a holiday weekend.

But we're only at the tip of the iceberg.  We need to send many more emails to Ms. Riley voicing your support for Whole Foods.  Talk to your neighbors.  Bring it up during your condo or apartment association meetings.  If you would like Whole Foods to come to Columbia Heights be proactive and spread the word.  You can keep track of the latest number of emails that have been sent to Ms. Riley here.  We will try to give you updates on the count every evening.

More Whole Foods Updates

We have had email correspondences with, Robert Moore, the president of Development Corporation of Columbia Heights (DCCH), one of the development partners of DC USA.  Mr. Moore has provided us with some good insight into the situation with Whole Foods and DC USA.  We have asked permission to post his message in its entirety as it is well written and quite informative.  We are still waiting for his response.  In anycase we should be able to provide you with a good summary of what Mr. Moore wrote soon.  Just remember, availability of parking is a major issue for Whole Foods Market.  How many of you would simply walk or take the Metro to Whole Foods rather than drive there?  We need to express this to Karen Riley.

Go to our Whole Foods Market section for the latest updates.  In addition to emailing Ms. Riley, you may also sign our petition to show your support to the community.  In a few weeks we will collect all the entries from this petition and send them to Ms. Riley.

Great to see someone take initiative on this. And I don't care what your real name is..lol ( I am sure you know what I am referring to). Anyway, I wanted to just say that I don't quite understand this parking issue. Surely there must be a way for Whole Foods to agree with the parking carage to reserve some spots for their employees. And as for customers, I don't mind if I can park right next to the Whole Foods store door - the parking carage meant for DC USA customers at large is fine with me.
