Initial Launch 

Happy 2006!  On New Years Day, we launched Columbia Heights News through various community listservs and forums throughout the internet.  We thank you so much for all the feedback we have already received.  The success of this website  really depends on you, the readers and members of the community.  We are constantly doing research to provide you the latest news and information about Columbia Heights but we also depend on your contributions.  Please Contact Us with your comments and suggestions.  We would also like to hear from you if you have  some news or information about Columbia Heights that we were not aware of.  If you don't have time to send us an email, please provide some feedback by taking the poll on the left of this page.

Updates 

We have been busy incorporating some of the inputs that we have already received from the community.  We have added more resources to the Government, Places of Worship, and Organizations pages in our Community section.  We also added a page of links to other resources that we found on Columbia Heights and surrounding neighborhoods.  The Theater and Shopping pages have been updated and a whole new page for Future Shopping has been created.  Here, we will report all of the future shopping opportunities that will become available in Columbia Heights as we learn of them.

We are continually adding updates to Columbia Heights News.  In the near future we will add a section with recent announcements from Ward 1 Councilmember Jim Graham.  We will also look into providing a community events calendar and adding more categories to our Forum page.  Please provide some suggestions.

About Us 

The launch of Columbia Heights News has caused quite a stir on one particular listserv.  You can read some of the postings here.  There were questions about our motivations and intentions for establishing this website.  We have decided to add some more information about ourselves in the About section.  You can read about Our Mission and find out a little more About Us and why we decided to start Columbia Heights News.  We are excited about our 2006 launch and look forward to serving you in the years to come.
