Please come to DCUSA! You'd be a great contribution to Columbia Heights. DCUSA folks, we'll pester you if you don't seal this deal. Don't ruin the mall and the neighborhood by putting another discount retail store in there.

This is great news that Ellwood Thompson's want to come to CH. I had the pleasure of shopping there for 5 years when living in the Richmond area. They are a superb natural grocer. Who needs whole foods when Ellwood's want to come. Bring on Ellwood Thompson!

It would be fantastic to have more shopping options in the neighborhood. Given the huge lines at almost all hours at the Giant, I think this will be a great opportunity for Elwood Thompson's!
Green Grocer

The idea of having a quality green grocer in Columbia Heights has enthused all the neighbors I know. Many neighbors have expended a lot of emotion, energy & time trying to get a WFs or TJs type grocer in the DC USA project. Our efforts to date have not panned out, but I am heartened that the community is still committed to this effort and that Ellwood Thompson's is seriously considering this project.

I don't know much about Ellwood Thompson's business model, but I do know that my food shopping needs are not met by the Giant. Their produce is nearly the worst I've seen in the city. And, since I am largely vegetarian, I feel no need to go into the store. I shop at the WFs on P or at the Shoppers in Herndon, VA where I work. I want to be able to walk to a store when I get home & weekends -- that's why I live in the city. I live 1.5 blocks from the DC USA project. I consciously support DC business, when it works for me, but I don't believe Giant works for me or the larger CH community.

I believe Columbia Heights would welcome ET's. There is much pent-up demand for quality retailers in this section of the city. Try to negotiate the best least possible, but don't let this opportunity pass you by...

Thanks much,

Bill

Not long ago I had never heard of Ellwood Thompson's. Now - everywhere I go people are abuzz: Have you heard of that great natural market from Richmond that's moving into DC USA?[p]

This Ellwood has me very excited! [p]The Giant is fine for staples, but I'm tired of traveling across town or out to the suburbs to get produce or other quality foods.
Please come to the neighborhood!

I've been wishing for a source of natural foods within walking distance since I moved to Mt. P. We want you!

Ellwood Thompson's sounds like a wonderful addition to the neighborhood & will save me from the crowds at the P St. Whole Foods.

I am from Richmond and I grew up on ETs - it's so good! and not horridly overpriced like Whole Paycheck... Although DC may change that a little. Anyway, I'll count down the days (hopefully) until I can have a delicious ET's Vegan Classic wrap. Sometimes, I think about driving to Richmond as an excuse to get one. Now I won't have to! Yay!
