Sticky Fingers BakeryWe received some details on the new bakery set to open at the Park Triangle building this fall.  Kirsten Rosenberg, the co-owner sent us the following information:

I want to introduce Sticky Fingers Bakery to you, as we're the "vegan bakery" alluded to in the recent "Park Triangle Retail Update."

We are excited to be relocating our shop from Dupont Circle/Adams Morgan to Columbia Heights this fall!  In addition to our full line of cakes, cookies, cinnamon buns, and other delectable sweets, we will also be expanding our menu to include a selection of healthy quick meals to go--sandwiches, soups, salads, and more--and all 100% egg- and dairy-free, of course!

Ms. Rosenberg is very excited about being part of the Columbia Heights community.  She hopes to open her bakery in October but has not established a firm date yet.  For more information, please visit their website at:  http://www.stickyfingersbakery.com/

Excellent news! Would be great if they would also include some products for us, evil non-vegans.. I mean come on, an egg here or there.. makes many a bakery product so much yummier.. although I am happy to be proven wrong.

Also hope some of their products (must admit have not tried their current location) are not super sweet (yeah right, dream on, this is America.. ).

As a vegan who lives just a few blocks away, I couldn't be more thrilled. As a customer of Sticky Fingers for years, I've had plenty of non-vegan friends say it's one of their favorite bakeries. You won't miss the eggs, trust me.

Good to hear! I wish they would start selling bread too though, as good bread is what I would really like to get.

As another customer of this bakery, I can also say that their baked goods defy the claim that vegan baked items are any less delectable than cholesterol-laden ones! And their staff people are all very friendly and helpful!

Thrilling! I'm mid-way between the two locations, so as long as SF remains within drooling distance, LIFE IS GOOD!

And GforGood is entirely correct--you'll never miss the eggs! Why mistreat another being for something that is neither ours to take nor necessary to good quality and tasty treats?

LONG LIVE STICKY FINGERS! Welcome to the neighborhood!
What about...

BAGELS AND CREAM CHEESE???

What kind of bakery doesn't have bagels and cream cheese??

Am I the only who misses a quality bagel source? Why is there such weak bagel culture in this town?

I am totally willing to try the whole line up of vegan goodies, but I would hope that at least some of the staples would survive...I understand "no bacon", but no cream cheese? The horror!

I agree completely - there are very few bagel options in the city. So's Your Mom in Adams Morgan is the only one I know of - outside of the coffeehouse schwag.

Asking for eggs and cream cheese is like going to a vegetarian restaurant and demanding a hamburger--probably before you've even tried the food. I'm sure part of the ethos of SF is to expose people to the fact that food can be healthy, delicious, and cruelty-free.

Their 'quick meals to go' sound like a great idea.
NEARLY HERE!!

Just went this morning. The cinnamon buns are amazing. Hard to believe they are vegan.
