RedRocks PizzaFood critic Tom Sietsma profiled RedRocks Pizzeria today on Washington Post Radio (107.7 FM).    Sietsma spoke about a new article he had writen on RedRocks that was just published in The Washington Post today.  We had a chance to listen to a good portion of the radio segment.

Sietsma has only patronized the pizzeria once and he did not want to give it any sort of rating until he made at least three to four visits.  But, generally, he was very pleased with the food at RedRocks.  He also provided some interesting background on the RedRocks owner, James O'Brien.  Much of what he spoke about is summed up in the article he posted today.

Here is an excerpt from Sietsma's article in the Washington Post:

These days, O'Brien is a regular presence at RedRocks (1036 Park Rd. NW; 202-506-1402), the latest in a batch of fresh pizza sources around Washington and the latest in a crop of new places to eat in Columbia Heights. The former owner of Staccato Lounge in Adams Morgan, which he sold last year, O'Brien isn't relying only on fond memories to make sure his signature dish hits the spot with discerning customers. Edan MacQuaid, a former employee of 2 Amys and Pizzeria Paradiso, is tending RedRocks' Italian-made, wood-burning brick oven.
