Ruby TuesdayWe have added three new restaurants to our Dining section:  Ruby Tuesday, Morgan's Seafood, and Acuario.  Most of you are familiar with Ruby Tuesday.  It is large national restaurant chain serving American cuisine.  Ruby Tuesday is expected to open at the end of this month in the historic Tivoli Square.

Morgan's Seafood is a family-owned seafood restaurant which reopend mid-July after several years.  You can read their official press release here.

Acuario is a Latin American restaurant located in the revitalizing 11th St corridor.  It opened late May.  Some of you have already begun discussing your experiences at Acuario in our forum.

Please visit the page we have created for each of these new dining establishments and express your own thoughts and experiences.

Fantastic. Although I hope Morgan's "sould food" (i.e. deep fried, right? :)) is not the only choise on the menu.. Will try them for sure. The press release is rather funny.. praise the lord & Barry was probably high on something as usual.. hehe..

Have not yet tried Acuario either, but perhaps this weekend.

And Ruby Tuesday is a welcome addition too in its predictable, not so great but reasonable priced, way.

Boo on Ruby Tuesdays! Is Columbia Heights already losing its charm? This will only get worse as Target and other chains move in. There was just an article in the Post about the high number of chains in Dupont Circle that are pushing out the wonderful home-grown shops.

Well, it is in the end the consumers who must decide. If you don't like Cosi or whatever chain restaurants they have at dupont, don't go in. Retail space owners set the price and if local restaurants can afford it, great. Usually business attracts business - one lonely local restaurant does not critical mass create. A few chain restaurants may help create such mass. Hopefully local business restaurants will open too, not only in the new developments but also and in particular along 14th St. North of Tivoli. There are many houses along that corridor that could house some more decent (krhhhmm) restaurants.

WHY are you celebrating Ruby Tuesday's??? You should be organizing to stop that. If I wanted to eat like I lived in Manasas, I would live in Manasas.

I am not celebrating it. Read again. :)

It's funny you mention Manasas..I think you would have an easier time finding a decent mom-pop place there than here in DC...I am from DC Georgetown and Dupont are now outdoor malls..Not to sound too Sci-Fi this is your future..As for Restaurants in DC compared to other major cities 1-10 we would be -1...I love Washington i just wish the french had left some culture along with the city plans...DC desperatly needs some decent mid range restaurants "NOT TAPAS" and some mom-pop corner taverns..Thank you citizens
