Press Release for Councilmember Jim Graham

Ward One Restaurant Expands to Union Row

Washington DC:  Councilmember Jim Graham (D-Ward One) joined PN Hoffman today to announce that Bus Boys and Poets will open a second restaurant at the Flats of Union Row, in Ward One.

The second restaurant will open across the street from the first, Bus Boys and Poets, at 14th and V St, NW.

The new restaurant will be called Eatonville.  It is named in tribute of one of the first all-black towns to be formed after the Emancipation Proclamation.  The restaurant will occupy 6,000 square feet with seating for about 250 guests.  There will be an outdoor patio.

“I am pleased to welcome Eatonville to the historic U Street Corridor,” said Councilmember Graham. “Bus Boys and Poets has been a great success.  Eatonville will provide another great dining experience for the residents of Ward One.”

In addition to Eatonville, the ground-level retail at Union Row will include Yes! Organic Market and Georgetown Valet Drycleaners.  Since 1993, PN Hoffman has developed 35 properties in the District.  Union Row is the largest.
