After a week delay, Logan @ The Heights opens today.  The Heights is part of the Eatwell DC restaurant group which includes Grillfish, Logan Tavern, and Merkado.  It is located on 14th and Kenyon Streets NW (ground floor of the Kenyon Square condominium building).  The Heights is open for dinner daily.  Brunch is served on the weekends and lunch will be served sometime after Labor Day.

Taqueria Distrito Federal has been honored in the latest Cheap Eats issue of the Washingtonian magazine.  Taqueria Distrito Federal serves a wide variety of authentic Mexican food.  It has received rave reviews by the media and the community over the years and this recent Washingtonian honor just solidifies its rank among the best.

Mayorga Coffee will be holding a "soft opening" on Monday (March 19).  The owner of Mayorga Coffee, Jae, made this announcement on Tuesday on our community forum.  Mayorga Coffee is coming in place of the much anticipated Kudo Beans at Tivoli Square (Park Rd and 14th St NW).  Based on Jae's forum posts, his cafe will be well worth the wait.  It will go beyond just the normal coffee shop fare with gourmet tapas and alcoholic beverages.

We received some details on the new bakery set to open at the Park Triangle building this fall.  Kirsten Rosenberg, the co-owner sent us the following information:

I want to introduce Sticky Fingers Bakery to you, as we're the "vegan bakery" alluded to in the recent "Park Triangle Retail Update."

We have added three new restaurants to our Dining section:  Ruby Tuesday, Morgan's Seafood, and Acuario.  Most of you are familiar with Ruby Tuesday.  It is large national restaurant chain serving American cuisine.  Ruby Tuesday is expected to open at the end of this month in the historic Tivoli Square.

We have just been informed by Chris Donatelli that Donatelli Development, Inc. has just signed a lease with Eatwelldc to bring a new restaurant to the Kenyon Square condominium and retail development.  The new restuarant will likely be named "The Heights" and will occupy a 3,100 square feet at the north end of the Kenyon Square building (14th St and Kenyon St NW).  It will also have 1,600 square feet of outdoor dining space.

A new deli cafe called Franklin's has just opened on 11th and Lamont Streets NW.  It has created a lot of early buzz and people's reactions have been very positive so far.  We gave the owner a call this afternoon. He had limited time as he was serving customers but he did provide us with his hours of operation.  He told us that his hours are not firm because he needs more time to gauge the market.
