Press Release

Morgan’s Seafood Grand Re-Opening
July 11, 2006

Morgan’s Seafood is proud to announce its Grand Re-Opening on July 15, 2006 at the same great and convenient location, 3200 Georgia Avenue, Washington DC.

Seventy five years ago Morris Morgan opened a neighborhood friendly restaurant which quickly became a staple in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.  Morgan’s Seafood is known for its delicious and mouth watering soul food not to mention our crabs, crabcakes and more.

It is with great humility that we were able to serve some of DC’s finest and we’ll never forget Councilmember Marion Barry patronage to our business.  Councilman Barry not only enjoyed his meal immensely but then he would move us aside while he took over serving our guests!

Although the food is undoubtedly scrumptious it was the pride that Mr. Morgan took in giving to his community which build the foundation that we today after having to overcome major obstacles are able to welcome you, our friends, and family back into our doors.

We thank each and every one of you for not giving up on us!  It’s because of patronage that we succeeded before and through it all it will be your patronage that propels us into many generations to come as we continue to serve you and yours.

It was been a trying and difficult 10 years watching something that we love so much be under the eye of destruction but through it all God sustained us and by His Strength we were made more than Conquerors!

The entire Morgan’s family would greatly appreciate the help of our community in putting the word out that Morgan’s Seafood is back.

We thank you in advance and look forward to seeing you and others on Saturday, July 15, 2006.  Morgan’s Seafood would also like to take this opportunity to thank Councilmember Jim Graham in advance for agreeing to be part of our Celebration.  Also tentatively scheduled to join is Councilmember Marion Barry.

The Celebration begins at 12:30 pm – Councilmember Graham’s expected arrival time is between 1:00 – 3:00 pm.

Sincerely,
The Morgan Family

Thanks for the racist comment, Crystal. How about something a little more positive about how the neighborhood should have a plethora of restaurants serving a variety of needs, rather than a bigoted comment that people should eat at black-owned places, not asian-owned.
