I just stopped in for dinner last weekend. The place was packed - it looked like about 75% of the people there were there for only drinks. We ended up sitting at the bar for dinner. The menu is a decent size - lots of standard items (burritos, enchiladas, etc.), and some other items like soups and meat dishes. I got a chicken burrito and my girlfriend got a vegeterian burrito. Both were HUGE, came with rice and beans. Very tasty food. My only complaint is that the music is extremely loud. Great place though, I will be going back.

Also agree that the food is decent and happy to have them in the neighborhood. BUT the music is FAR TOO LOUD. I couldn't really hear the person I went with if in the room near the bar.

At first glance, we thought the menu was a little overpriced; once our orders arrived, however, we found we'd gotten more than our money's worth. The portions were huge (reminiscent of the Cheesecake Factory) and the flavor was excellent-- the beans and carmelized onions with the parrilla were especially good. The music was a bit overwhelming at times, but I fully plan to go back with friends.

Music: far too loud. Prohibitively loud. I couldn't hear my friends, the waitress, or, after a while, the music itself. Loud, and horrible. 80s hair metal. And the guy operating the stereo was looking at us and smiling every time he turned it up. I should also mention we were the only people eating in the dining room, so when we asked them to turn it down, we constituted a pretty heavy majority.

Food: I went with 10 people. 9 of them had great meals. I had overcooked, dry pork.

Service: Our waitress was nice, pleasant, and witty... but, there was a huge confusion about the check at the end. We added a tip to the amount shown on the check, and they came back and said they require a 20% tip and demanded $3.00 from us. Unheard of as far as I know. My friends might go back. I will not.
Great burrito, great price

I've only really gone for their burrito because I LOVE IT. It's big (enough for two meals), smothered in melted cheese, and only like $7.35 I believe. The avocado, cucumbers and lettuce on the side are a nice touch. Ditto that the music is ridiculously loud. The people are always friendly though.
CAUTION!

This place is no more than a bar. Drunk men stream out of the place at all hours urinating on the sidewalk, getting into cars, and often banging into other parked cars. And what are all those scantily dressed young women who apparently work there doing? Not serving food or drinks, that's for sure. The blacked out windows must provide a good screen for these "working girls"...

Just what we're looking for in our neighborhood. Hopefully they'll lose the liquor license...though I suspect prostitution is still a good source of income.

This place is nothing but a latino whore house. After having to ask the waitress for the check, who was making out with a bar patron, I got the point of the place. I question the owners ability to know anything about laws and regulations regarding food preparation, etc. And, they serve patrons until they can't even walk, who then get in their cars and drive off. Can't wait for them to leave the neighborhood.

Those of you who object, please come to the liquor license renewal meeting on October 31 to voice those objections ...

There is definitely evidence of shady doings ... between the weirdly cozy relationship with police, the roof they built over the rear area and the black-out on the windows (what are they hiding?), the fact that, prior to that roof being built, people were observed having sex in the rear area, the level of intoxication of the patrons, the making out with waitresses, the nearly all-male clientele, and the owners' refusal to cooperate with the ANC and general standoffish-ness, I'd say house of ill repute is not a stretch.

I have heard rumors they are thinking of building a second story ... there is no way we as a community can let that happen unless they start to provide satisfactory answers to hard questions.

That's a sure way to close a thriving business - make unproven accusations that they are a "latino whore house" or "house of ill reput"

All because you don't like Latino people.

If they are loud - outside of the place - call the police. If they are urinating outside, call the police. If they are breaking the law, call the police.

The food is good, real good. The music is good, but way too loud for my personal taste. Get carry out and take it home so you can listen Barry Manilow and Michael Bolten.

Where you when they got their license? Oh yea you didn't live her.
