I dropped in last friday night and had a GREAT time! The bartneder, (little blonde bombshell) made the most beautifully presented drinks. I tried a few of her concoctions- totally pleased! I'll be around...
Great !

Mayorga is the place to be everyone that workes there is great the food is very good, the drinks are nice what every you like they have it. The live jazz on Wedensday. I have told family and friends about the place to be in DC
Unfriendly bartender, guest

Asked for second picture id given order of two beers. When bartender was confronted with a surprised demeanor by customer, he got pesky. Upon being informed that customer had never before been asked for identification, he continued to be pesky (instead of simply explaining "Sorry, it's the law."). Worse, a guest (!) proceeded to go downstairs to approach the two female friends of customer, lecturing them and touching one of them. Never seen this before, not coming to this place again.

The lounge in the evenings is HORRIBLE. place upstairs is REALLY small, bartenders dotn know what they are doing, and the cheap lookin asian dancers even more unclassy. they are trying to make it like a club atomsphere and it jsut doesnt work. stick to waht u know best...coffee, not lounges or nite clubs...
Let the owners know

If you don't like the crappy "lounge" atmosphere, please let the owners know. This place has tons of potential, but has gone downhill in the last several months because the owners got it in their heads that, rather than ask neighborhood patrons what they's like, what the neighborhood really needed is a sleazy club. I now refuse to even walk in on some nights, despite having been an every day regular since last spring. Of course, maybe they just need to shut down.

Quality has gone down big time since the place first opened. It seems like they're looking for an identity rather than sticking with one. Service goes from good to really bad depending on the mood of the owners. If any of you have read Bourdain's books...this might be a sign that things aren't going so well. I'm just saying...
