Press Release From Columbia Heights Day Initiative

LAST REMINDER TO THOSE BUSINESSES/ORGANIZATIONS/INTERESTED PARTIES THAT HAVE NOT SIGNED UP TO PARTICIPATE YET AT THE COLUMBIA HEIGHTS DAY FESTIVAL:

This email primarily serves as a reminder to those vendors and businesses that wish to participate at the First Annual Columbia Heights Day Festival (October 6) but have yet to commit…we have a sign-up/informational meeting tomorrow at Temperance Hall ( 3634 Georgia Ave NW) starting at 7pm (Weds, September 19th). Most small to mid-sized businesses have donated $150 for the table space (to help pay for equipment rental), so please bring your checkbook to make the small donation if you want to participate (tax-deductible). We have ordered a limited number of tables for Year 1 of the Columbia Heights Day Festival, so don't miss your chance! Remember, the more success we have for Year 1 of the festival, the more we can grow for Year 2 to make the CH Day Festival as spectacular as other festivals in town.

We have also reserved a very limited number of Free tables for small, independent, local artists, so if you know of somebody in Columbia Heights that would like to display their work, let us know! Let us know SOON! Just forward this email to them and ask them to contact us immediately.

We have also heard interest from several businesses owners that want to include the charitable causes that they are involved in, so we want to take this time to extend an invitation to any non-profit organizations in the neighborhood that you know of—we are having a community organization meeting for any last-minute stragglers next Weds. at Sticky Fingers Bakery (1370 Park Road NW)).

Lastly, please let your employees and colleagues know there are volunteer opportunities available, please contact Rose Donna (from The Wonderland Ballroom) at to sign-up.

This is your chance to be a part of DC History, at least that's the way I look at it...so don't miss out!

I would like to sell handmade skirts and shirts designed and produced by my mother in India. I do this on the side and do not have a store. Please let me know who I can contact to participate in this.

Thanks
